HUNGER
I'm walking lonely circles 'cause I've got no place to go,
And I'm talking to myself because there's not a soul I know,
And I'm getting very weary and I'm moving pretty slow,
But I don't mind the wandering or the lonely quiet, no,
It's just this Hunger I cannot stand.
And my clothes are getting dirty and more ragged every day,
But I can't wash or change because I've got no place to stay,
And people do not talk to me, they turn their heads away,
For they see in my eyes the words I do not need to say:
That it's this Hunger I cannot stand.
Girls sometimes will look at me and laugh behind their hands,
But I don't think they ever really wonder who I am.
Perhaps they could love me if I had the same as them,
But I don't think about them and I could not give a damn,
It's just this Hunger I cannot stand.
They'd be shocked to know the truth that's standing in their street,
They can't recognize a man who's starving on his feet,
And they must think I'd be ashamed to be so worn and beat,
But I don't want my pride, I only want some thing to eat.
For it's this hunger I can not stand.
